David Byrne, líder de la prolífera banda que reinó en los 80´, Talking Head, es el autor de este INCREÍBLE musical. Una película con toda la fuerza de sus temas, que, lamentablemente, nunca se editó en Argentina. Él mismo la protagonizará, recorriendo una ciudad símil Texas, llena de excentricidades, humor y buena música. Bandas como Joy División, Happy Mondays, New Order, The Buzzcocks, The Sex Pistols están incluidas en este soundtrack, que evidencia la explosión musical en Manchester desde mediados de los 70 hasta los 80, del punk a lo electrónico.
La película 24 hours party people es una excelente aproximación a la vida y obra de Tony Wilson, responsable de armar, potenciar , incluso quebrar esta movida. Pero lo interesante, lo que realmente nos interesa en este blog, es la música. Si alguien aún no conoce las bandas antes nombradas... desmembramos cada track con un videíto… más bonus!
Goran Bregović es un compositor prolífero oriundo de la región balcánica. Autor de bandas sonoras de varias películas, su música mezcla estilos logrando un sonido único. Su performance más conocida, quizás más interesante, es la que a continuación presentamos con el soundtrack para bajar y un fragmento de la película con su música.
